Design process

→ three-week project (2 to 4 hours per day)
→ project designed in a team of 3
→ created with Android Studio in Kotlin
→ managed database with Firebase
→ using GIMP for sprites
→ models made with Balsamiq Wireframes

Context:

Project carried out as part of my two-year University Degree in Computer Science at the CNAM over a period of just over three weeks.

The aim of this multidisciplinary project was to create an application from A to Z: the creation of the concept, the models, the architectural scheme, etc.
My classmates and I decided to build a video game despite design and time limits, and we chose a game of the "Clicker" type.

I took on the role of Game Designer on the project and my classmates and I worked together on the dev side. I also took care of the graphic aspect by creating most of the assets and sprites.

Design process:

The idea for the game came quite quickly, we wanted a simple game to design so we chose a 'Clicker'. Then we chose the license that we were going to borrow in order to carry out this project.

I took on the directive role of the Project Manager regarding the distribution of work and the duration of tasks. One of my classmates took it upon himself to go deeper into these elements and take care of the other aspects of project management.

Using our lead developer, we built fragments and views of our app on Android Studio in Kotlin.
While he was building the app, I was busy with implementing content and creating sprites.

The first rendering of PokéClicker was analyzed by the juries a week before the oral presentation. The game was functional and offered varied content.
We took advantage of this week to update the game.

Thus, I was able to add about ten new playable Pokémon and I included the evolutions. The diversity of wild Pokémon has also been increased and several other changes have been made.

The chances of obtaining Poké Balls have been increased, Hyperballs have been implemented including rarer Pokémon and Masterballs could be obtained on legendary ones in order to get them in your collection!

The oral presentation went well, leaving my classmates and I very satisfied with our project.

Firebase has undergone major changes, so the application only works for Google accounts that have already logged in. Pokémon do not appear for new users because these users are absent from the database, which has become inaccessible.
